Hello

I'm Brent.

Most of my career has run on hard terrain — high stakes, unclear rules, outcomes that matter, where media, technology, and human behavior collide. Some projects blew up. Some broke through. A few became the next leap forward.

I'm a four-time founder and operating executive who's spent four decades at the leading edge of every major technology wave — the early web, e-commerce, social, China's digital boom, blockchain, and now AI. I build and turn around companies by pairing sharp business instinct with deep technical fluency, then executing. I built the RNC's first website in 1994, built and grew Realtor.com's website from a rough prototype to its $3B IPO, scaled eHobbies to $24M revenue and 350 people, and built Lycos' $120M Asia-Pacific business across eight countries out of Beijing. At ReachLocal — a public company paralyzed by its own process — I rebuilt the operating model and cut time-to-market 400% before its sale to Gannett, and in 2017 I ran WAX's $150M token event end to end. Along the way I've helped shape digital-asset policy with regulators and lawmakers — most operators have never been in that room.

Today, as Co-Founder and CEO of Boardroom One (B1), I'm building an AI-native platform that helps governments across Africa and the Middle East modernize secure communication with sovereignty at the center. Through Team Impakt I embed as an interim operator — COO, CIO, CMO, or CPO — inside organizations at their inflection points, from early-stage startups to regulated enterprises. The through-line across sixty recommendations from managers, reports, and clients is consistent: relentless execution, teams that rally around the mission, and unshakable integrity. What keeps me moving isn't the title — it's the work: making hard things easier, and building systems that serve the people who depend on them. If you're building something without a playbook, let's talk.

Early to the wave
Brent alone saw the potential of the Internet in those days of its infancy — I still have a copy of his "new media, new opportunities" presentation, a reminder of his forward-thinking, "we'll find a way" attitude.
